We are all partners in change
On the occasion of Women's Day and Mother's Day

 

Under the patronage of the President of the University, Professor Bassam Al-Malkawi, in  the presence of the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Dr. Hamdi Al-Qubailat, the deans of the faculties,  faculty members,  and students; the faculty of law and undwer the supervision of  Dr. Hiam shawabeh organized a seminar entitled: 


"We are all partners in change"

on the occasion of women’s and mother’s day. This seminar has been organized  in cooperation with the Jordanian National Committee for Women, and  with the participation of the secretary general of the National Committee for Women's Affairs Dr. Salma Al-Nems and the journalist  Abeer Zaban and Dr. Lina Al-Jazrawi. The seminar was moderated by Dean of the Faculty of Law, Dr. Hamdi Al-Qubailat.


Dr. Salma Al-Nemes spoke about the establishment of the Jordanian National Committee for Women's Affairs, which aims to promote women's issues, its mandate to review legislation, and the Convention on Discrimination against Women signed at the United Nations.


As the journalist Abeer Zaban talked about the synchronization of the battle of Karama with International Women's Day and Mother's Day, and how we learned the true citizenship from the battle of dignity, she added: "We are all proud of Jordanian women by virtue of their superiority over many of their sisters in the Arab world. The Jordanian woman is protected by legislation and laws and her dignity and respect. With the support of the Hashemite leadership, which is aware of the status of women in Jordan. Dr. Lina Jazrawi spoke about equality between women and men and justice among them.


At the end of the seminar, a film about the most important achievements of the Faculty of Law was presented. The President of the University handed over the memorial shields to the guests. Dr. Salma Al-Nems, Secretary General of the National Committee for Women's Affairs, also presented a shield to the president.
