Abstract | Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are vital to the Jordanian economy but are increasingly targeted by cyber-attacks. Despite this, many SMEs lack robust cybersecurity models. This study aims to enhance cyber-resilience by assessing current cybersecurity measures and identifying weaknesses across five dimensions: The level of cybersecurity knowledge and awareness, enterprise size and infrastructure, risk management practices, business continuity management, and technological capabilities. Using a quantitative analysis approach, data were collected from 310 questionnaires distributed to Jordanian industrial SMEs, yielding a response rate of 92.54%. The Partial Least Squares (PLS) methodology was employed for data examination within the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) framework using SPSS version 25. Statistically significant impacts (? ? 0.05) were found in all five dimensions of defending against cyber-attacks. Based on our study, we recommend that Jordanian industrial SMEs implement cost-effective cybersecurity measures such as multi-factor authentication, secure network configurations, efficient data backup practices, and audit trails to enhance cyber resilience. Additionally, investing in employee training and awareness programs is important. To support the findings of this study, we suggest a cost-effective cybersecurity model for SMEs to improve incident response and maintain continuity in SMEs, thereby strengthening their overall cybersecurity posture.
