Abstract | Sustainable building projects represent a growing sector that combines environmental responsibility with innovative construction practices. However, these projects often face unique challenges, particularly in managing various risks associated with sustainability goals. This study focuses on these challenges, highlighting the crucial role of Value Management (VM) as an effective tool for balancing cost, quality, and sustainability in these projects. The main problem addressed is the difficulty in effectively managing risks in sustainable construction, a critical aspect for the success and sustainability of these projects. The objective is to examine how VM can be utilized to efficiently mitigate these risks, ensuring the achievement of project goals while adhering to sustainability standards. Employing a mixed-methods approach, the research combines quantitative techniques, including risk analysis and statistical methods like Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA), Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA), and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) based on data from 385 participants, with qualitative insights gained from semi-structured interviews with 12 industry professionals. The study's key findings reveal the identification and prioritization of various risk categories such as environmental, social, technical, financial, and managerial risks. It also establishes a significant correlation between value management and risk management. Concluding with actionable recommendations, the study advocates for the enhancement of value management in the sustainable construction sector. This includes strategies like early engagement of stakeholders, conducting targeted training programs, and employing advanced technologies for risk assessment. These recommendations are aimed at improving the resilience and success of sustainable construction projects in Jordan, providing a valuable framework for future research and practical application in this evolving field.
