Abstract | In construction management, the objective is to define and develop a solution and a model for planning, scheduling, controlling and monitoring the activities of the project. The time scheduling plays a very important role in success of the proper implementation of the various activities and general outcome of the project. In practice, because of many reasons, most projects suffer from time delay in accomplishing the activities. One important reason is the non-exacting knowledge about the time duration of activities. This research deals with the problem of construction project scheduling with uncertain resource environments, which are defined by uncertain activity durations. It considers the solution of the leveling and allocation problems for projects that have some uncertain activities. The resources are minimized and redistributed using resource leveling that is based on a proposed heuristic algorithm with limited duration time. The algorithm performs the resource scheduling (leveling and allocation) for minimum moments. The efficiency of the proposed algorithm is indicated by the resource improving coefficient and the rate of resource's utilization. As a case-study, the electric works in a hospital rehabilitation project, in Iraq-Baghdad, is used to explore the application of the proposed algorithm. |
