Abstract | Human beings have always used energy to improve their living conditions, and the ability to harvest and convert energy to usable forms continues to be an important activity of human beings. Technological and industrial progress today is heavily dependent on Renewable energy sources such as wind, solar, hydro, and biomass. Renewable energy technology will play an important role in the future to supply increasing global energy demand and provide energy security. Integrated Renewable Energy Systems (IRES) are modern and feasible strategies used to gear natural energy sources to revitalize remote rural areas in developing countries, with an aim of providing necessary energy needs for people in such areas, using two or more available renewable energy resources. From the national interest and permanent efforts to achieve comprehensive sustainable development at the state level in general and at the village level in particular. This study aims to reduce the electrical cost of renewable energy systems in rural areas by using the cost optimization method for electricity demand (IRES) that uses a program known as HOMER to make the most of environmental and natural resources possible. A remote rural area in the southern Jordan Valley with a population of about 1,120 people in 140 households was used as an example for optimization and cost analysis. Mathematical models have also been developed for important components of IRES such as: generator, wind turbine, photovoltaic system, and battery banks. The study concluded that the application of the system in the study area will contribute to reducing the cost of electricity production and to making this area self-sufficient in energy and can even become a producer and a source of it. |
