Abstract | Project management is important Engineering, especially in transportation problems, as project management faced many challenges in the recent years. These constraints include heavy tasks, scheduling project activities, budget analysis, and calculation processes in addition to large project accounts. Many optimization techniques help project managers and decision-makers take the right and necessary decisions, monitor and manage mega-scale projects, and reach the highest quality standards and optimal solutions through an improvement strategy. Additionally, the importance of transportation has increased in recent times due to its impact on the project's cost and the duration of its implementation, especially in Jordan. In this research, a model was created and applied to a Jordanian Construction company using the Genetic Algorithm (GA) method and Zero Point (ZP) method. This research aims to improve the process of transporting materials from the company's stores to its projects, decrease the cost of transportation, and determine the optimal optimization method. Techniques applied into two types of materials. Analysis and comparison done on more than one stage based on the proportions of costs associated with the transportation trip duration and the distance of the transportation trip. The results showed a clear improvement in transportation cost, and the optimal results were using the GA method. The percentage of savings in transportation cost by the company's initial study was about 50%. The company indicated that its expected transportation cost is 16800 JD and this research show that the optimal transportation cost is 8468 JD.
