{"id":20876,"date":"2023-11-29T08:31:24","date_gmt":"2023-11-29T08:31:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/iu.edu.jo\/newweb\/iu-3888\/"},"modified":"2023-11-29T08:31:24","modified_gmt":"2023-11-29T08:31:24","slug":"iu-3888","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iu.edu.jo\/newweb\/iu-3888\/","title":{"rendered":"A Scientific Visit for Architecture Students to Desert Castles and the Shaumari Reserve Visitor Center"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" size-full wp-image-20864\" style=\"display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;\" src=\"https:\/\/iu.edu.jo\/newweb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/iu590-min.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" srcset=\"https:\/\/iu.edu.jo\/newweb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/iu590-min.png 650w, https:\/\/iu.edu.jo\/newweb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/iu590-min-300x200.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 650px) 100vw, 650px\" \/><\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\">An elite group of students from the Department of Architecture at Isra University visited the desert castles (Qasr Al-Harrana and Quseir &#8216;Amra) and the Shumari Reserve Visitor Center.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\">\u00a0<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\">This visit comes within the educational objectives of the subject of local architecture and preservation of heritage buildings, under the supervision of Dr. Diala Al-Atiyat and engineer Tasnim Al-Oran.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\">\u00a0<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\">This visit included the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the architectural heritage in Jordan, live exposure to an example of a monument listed on the World Heritage List (Quseir &#8216;Amra), study the characteristics of desert castles and the Islamic character (Qasr Al-Harrana), and understand the mechanism of the building\u2019s interaction with the environmental surroundings in the building (Shumari Reserve Visitor Center).
