ملخص الرسالة
Economic growth has been closely linked to continuing human development, excessive use of natural resources and increased energy demand. Interest in sustainable urban design began in the early 20s, with sustainable urban design focusing on the relationship between buildings and the environment, taking into account the importance of meeting current needs without losing sight of future generations. However, urban infrastructure in Jordan nowadays suffers from problems in energy, climate change, urbanization, and the migration of people from neighboring countries. so this problem must be resolved through the development of urban cities according to the British Assessment System (B.C).This study aims at assessing and developing urban cities in Jordan - Amman using the BREEAM Communities (B.C) British Assessment System. The data on Amman-Imaish was collected from specialized government departments and also through field visits to conduct the assessment of infrastructure in Amman-Imaish. The assessment results show that the infrastructure of Amman-Imaish area is good according to the BREEAM Communities Assessment System. After the assessment, the researcher further developed this criterion for further sustainability through identifying and understanding the criteria that are not available in the site with referring to the BREEA Communities Assessment System. The study recommends the implementation and improvement of urban cities in Jordan - Amman in the future to be of a sustainable nature that would provide people's needs and requirements without affecting the environment. Finally, the study proposes a comprehensive future research to implement and comply with sustainability standards in all infrastructure projects in all government departments in Jordan.
