ملخص الرسالة
Background:
Among critical care nurses, work-related diseases and injuries are on the rise due largely to stress and worry caused by one's job. More than two-thirds of nurses say they are experiencing high levels of work stress. Workplace stress may result in feelings of inadequacy, despair, a lack of creativity, burnout, and a decrease in the quality of nursing care. These are all negative outcomes for patients. Because of this, critical care nurses must manage their job stress and anxiety to enhance their physical and emotional well-being at work.
Aim of the study: The purpose of this research was to evaluate the effectiveness of the psycho-educational program in reducing job stress and anxiety among nurses who works with chronic cardiac patients in Amman, Jordan.
Method: It was conducted in two hospitals from the Royal Medical Services (RMS) in cardiac and intensive care units (CCU and ICU). The experimental and control groups were randomized in the RCT. Eighty nurses were randomly recruited, and data were gathered using a Nursing Stress Scale (NSS) and a Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS). The effects of a psychological education program on job stress and anxiety among critical care nurses were examined using independent samples t-tests and one-way analyses of variance.
Results: There was no significant difference between the experimental and control groups in the pre-scores of the pre-psychoeducational program action to take occupational stress and anxiety, while post score was correlated to the experimental group. Stress levels among critical cardiac care unit nurses in Jordan were significantly influenced by factors like gender, education level, and experience (0.05).
Conclusion: According to the findings of this research, the psycho-educational program's success in lowering anxiety levels among nurses is rational and anticipated since having the right skills helps people manage their anxiety and prevent many of the unpleasant consequences that come with it.
