Description

University of Innsbruck has 2 technical faculties (civil engineering, architecture) and in total of 25,000 students of which 1400 are registered in the faculty of architecture and 815 in civil engineering. The EGEE chair is newly established at the University of Innsbruck. It represents a link between classical civil engineering in the building sector and the more mechanical engineering driven HVAC (Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning) system and the use of renewable energy (solar, biomass, ambient heat) in buildings. The chair works in close cooperation with the chair of building physics. The chair "Energy Efficient Buildings and Renewable Energy" is equipped with a laboratory and an outdoor collector test area. In autumn 2010 a fully automatic and flexible heat source/sink apparatus was put in operation including the connection to the collector test area and the corresponding measurement, data acquisition and control equipment as well as data analysis tools.
