Under the patronage of His Excellency Prof.Dr. Mohammad Hamed, President of  Isra University, the event of giving the hepatitis C prevention vaccine to students of the faculty of Nursing was opened over three days (Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday, 9-12/11/2024), and 159 male and female students received the vaccine.

This event comes within the interest of Isra University in general and the faculty of Nursing in particular in protecting students during their training in hospitals and health centers from exposure to hepatitis C. The vaccine provides protection against hepatitis B infection and its complications (chronic hepatitis, cirrhosis, and liver cancer). The hepatitis B vaccine is usually given in a series of 3 doses injected intramuscularly. However, if vaccinated people are exposed to the virus, the doctor measures their antibody levels against hepatitis B. If antibody levels are low, they may need another injection of the hepatitis B vaccine.

The opening was attended by the Dean of the faculty of Nursing, A. D. Wafiqa Dhaher, and Director of the Health and Healthcare Center, Dr. Haitham Manasra, heads of academic departments, and Chairman of the Public Safety Committee Dr. Hajja Ibrahim and members of the committee at the faculty  of Nursing that organized the vaccination campaign.
