The Field Training and Graduation Projects Committee at the faculty of Pharmacy organized a workshop entitled "Pharmacology and Safe Use of Medications", presented by Dr. Jabr Mohammed Jabr, Head of the Rational Use and Pharmacovigilance Department at the Food and Drug Administration.

The workshop began with a welcoming speech by Ms. Aya Daghash, in which she expressed her deep appreciation for the fruitful cooperation between the Faculty of Pharmacy and the Food and Drug Administration, stressing the importance of these partnerships in expanding students' understanding of pharmacovigilance concepts and promoting safe and effective use of medications.

The workshop covered a range of important topics, including defining the concept of pharmacovigilance and its objectives, the importance of reporting drug side effects, and best practices in rational use of medications. The vital roles of pharmacists in enhancing patient safety through monitoring and analyzing drug data were also highlighted.

The workshop was interactive, as students had the opportunity to ask questions and participate in fruitful discussions with the lecturer. The attendees praised the content of the workshop and its importance in enhancing their knowledge in vital areas that serve their future professional practices.

At the end of the workshop, the Head of the Department of Applied Pharmaceutical Sciences and Clinical Pharmacy, Dr. Israa Al-Tayba, presented a certificate of appreciation to Dr. Jabr Mohammed Jabr in appreciation of his valuable efforts and effective participation in disseminating knowledge.

This workshop is part of a series of activities and events organized by the Faculty of Pharmacy to enhance students’ efficiency and prepare them for the requirements of the labor market according to the highest academic and professional standards.
