The Faculty of Engineering at Isra University organized a scientific visit to the Jordan Radio and Television Corporation, in which students from the Department of Communications and Electronics Engineering participated under the supervision of Dr. Muhannad Al-Gharaibeh, Head of the Department of Communications and Electronics Engineering, and Dr. Muhammad Siam. The visit aimed to introduce students to audio and visual radio broadcasting techniques and how to send and receive data through transmitting and receiving devices inside the station.

 

The scientific visit included a visit to the Radio and Television Museum, where Mr. Muhammad Abu Hashish received the students and teachers. The tour included an introduction to radio techniques since its establishment, the audio and visual devices and cameras that were used, and how they developed.

Then the students headed to the Omra ground station, where the engineers explained the mechanism of the station's operation and its interaction with Arab, European and Asian satellite systems to broadcast and receive television programs and the station's two satellite broadcasting vehicles (SNG's), which are used to transmit television signals from various event sites.

The visit concluded with a tour of Studio No. 7, where the students were introduced to the news studios, advanced lighting systems, and their mechanisms of operation and movement in the studio ceiling. Dr. Muhannad Al-Gharaibeh expressed his thanks to the institution’s management for the warm welcome and valuable information, stressing the importance of enhancing cooperation with the institution in the future in a way that benefits both parties.
