Isra University in Jordan and Palestine Polytechnic University in Hebron signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at enhancing partnership and building bridges of cooperation between the two universities in the scientific and research fields.

 

The memorandum of understanding was signed remotely by His Excellency Prof. Dr. Mohammad Musa Hamed, President of Isra University, and Prof. Dr. Mustafa Abu Al-Safa, President of Palestine Polytechnic University, in the presence of Prof. Dr. Mona Hindiya, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Nihad Ayoub, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Prof. Dr. Ali Al-Amouri, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Nursing, and Dr. Dalia Ali, Acting Director of the Department of Cultural and Public Relations at Isra University.

 

The MoU included research cooperation, joint international projects, the creation of joint academic programs, the exchange of faculty members and students, in addition to the exchange of expertise in obtaining international accreditations for programs and progress in global rankings, which enhances opportunities for joint learning and the development of academic skills.

 

Palestine Polytechnic University was established in 1978 at the initiative of the University Graduates Association of Hebron Governorate, and began its journey as an engineering technical faculty that grants a diploma. In 1991, it began granting a bachelor's degree in some engineering programs, and officially transformed into a university in 1999, where it expanded to include four facultys offering diploma and bachelor's programs. With the development of community needs, master's programs were introduced in 2006, and it began granting a doctorate degree in 2018.

 

Isra University, established in August 1989, is one of the first private universities in Jordan. It started its journey with five facultys, and has now expanded to include ten faculties  offering 32 bachelor's degree programs, 12 master's programs, and a higher diploma program in educational administration. The university has obtained general and special accreditation from the Jordanian Higher Education Accreditation Commission, in addition to many certificates of appreciation from national and international institutions, and prestigious international accreditations, as the nursing program obtained the American international accreditation certificate "ACEN", the pharmacy program obtained the American accreditation "ACPE", and the physical therapy program obtained the international accreditation from the World Confederation for Physical Therapy "WCPT". This cooperation comes within the framework of the two universities' commitment to developing the educational process, enhancing the scientific research environment, and opening new horizons for students and faculty members, which will positively reflect on the quality of education and academic outcomes.
