The Faculty of Pharmacy organized an event entitled "Pharmaceutical Visions: Safe and Responsible Use of Over-the-Counter Medicines", in the presence of Prof. Dr. Nihad Ayoub, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, and a number of students, organized and supervised by the Leadership and Creativity Committee, under the supervision of Dr. Israa Al-Omari, Dr. Ziad Abu Diya, Dr. Rami Ayoub, and Genetic Engineer Farah Malabeh.
The event opened with an introductory tour, which included a review of the various corners of the event, where students provided enriching scientific explanations to attendees from various facultys and university employees, which contributed to honing their practical and communication skills.
The event witnessed a distinguished participation from several pharmaceutical companies and institutions, including: Al-Hikma Company - Al-Raqi Drug Store - Lilium Drug Store-Dr. Safi Company - ASTRA Company - Itqan Company
The event highlighted the importance of cooperation between academic institutions and leading local companies in the pharmaceutical field, as the supporting companies contributed effectively to the success of the event by providing educational and advisory resources, reflecting their commitment to supporting medical education and promoting a culture of safe drug use in the community.
At the end of the event, the companies were honored in appreciation of their prominent role in supporting students and contributing to achieving the event’s objectives. The students were also honored for their distinguished efforts, reflecting the vision of the Leadership and Creativity Committee to enhance innovation, support student creativity, and spread health awareness among community members.
It is worth noting that the performance of the students of the “Over-the-Counter Medicines” course, supervised by Dr. Israa Al-Omari, the course teacher, was distinguished, as she distributed topics related to over-the-counter medicines to student groups, and the student teams worked on preparing distinctive scientific content that includes explanatory publications and informational posters, to educate the attendees about the safe and responsible use of these medicines.
