Isra University and Chandigarh University in India signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at strengthening academic and research cooperation between them. This agreement aims to establish a comprehensive partnership framework covering various areas, such as student and faculty exchange, joint supervision of graduate studies, degree equivalency, organizing conferences and workshops, and cultural exchange.

 

The MoU was signed by His Excellency Professor Dr. Muhammad Musa Hamid, President of Isra University, and Professor Dr. Rajinder Bawa, Advisor to the Chancellor of Chandigarh University, in the presence of a number of academic figures, including Professor Dr. Rajan Sharma, Professor Dr. Rajan Sharma, Executive Director of the Office of International Relations at Chandigarh University, Professor Inshad Juma (Assistant to the President for Academic Affairs and International Projects), Professor Muhammad Bani Younis (Dean of the Faculty  of Arts), Dr. Abdullah Thalji (Faculty Member of the Faculty  of Arts), and Dr. Muhammad Hassan Makhlouf (Director of the Department of Public Cultural Relations) from Isra University.

 

The President highlighted the university's rich history, reviewing its foundations, its various faculty s and centers, as well as its pioneering educational programs and research projects, particularly in the fields of pharmacy, engineering, information technology, and the humanities. He also addressed the university's aspirations to expand its international partnerships and enhance its academic standing regionally and globally. The importance of this MoU lies in the strategic opportunities it provides for cooperation in vital fields such as computer science, artificial intelligence, information security, and applied research, in which Chandigarh University enjoys an advanced reputation and extensive experience. This cooperation will support Isra University's efforts to develop its technical and engineering programs and provide opportunities for qualitative academic and research exchange that will benefit students and faculty members from both sides.

 

The importance of signing this memorandum comes after the first Arab-Indian University Presidents Conference held in New Delhi in February 2025, which witnessed the signing of a cooperation agreement between the Association of Arab Universities and the Association of Indian Universities, opening new horizons for strengthening joint academic and research partnerships.
