The Deanship of Scientific Research and Graduate Studies was founded in 1996/1997. One of the objectives of establishing the Deanship is to organize scientific research and graduate studies at the university. The Deanship is thus in charge of facilitating the development of the scientific research: writing procedures, financial and technical support to research in different fields. It is also concerned with offering many academic programs at the graduate level that meet the needs and challenges of the area nationally and internationally.
To supervise scientific research and graduate studies, two important councils were formed in the Deanship: (a) The Scientific Research Council and (b) The Graduate Studies Council. The Deanship, therefore, works constantly to foster co-operation with scientific and academic national and international institutions in the domains of research and exchange of publications and expertise.
At the beginning of 2005/2006, the University created many graduate programs to be regulated and supervised by the Deanship of Scientific Research and Graduate Studies. Such programs included; a masters’ degree in Law, Pharmaceutical Studies, Engineering Projects, accountancy, and Childhood Development. In 2013/2014, the University added graduate programs in Arabic Language and English language and Literature, Architecture, Business Management, and Nursing. Moreover, the university created new graduate programs in 2021/2022 such as masters’ in Smart Business, and Higher Diploma in Educational Administration.
