Welcome to the Isra University Language Center!

It is my utmost pleasure to welcome you to the Isra University Language Center (IULC) website. Here, you will find answers to all your questions about the courses offered at the Language Center, including our Arabic program for speakers of other languages (ASOL), in addition to the Arabic & English communication skills courses.

We are pleased to offer a diverse range of compulsory and elective language courses, including Arabic, English, Hebrew, French, and Arabic for Non-Native Speakers. Our courses are taught by experienced instructors who are dedicated to helping students excel in their linguistic abilities and cultural understanding.

At the Language Center, students benefit from an enriching environment that fosters linguistic and cultural diversity, offering a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in various languages and traditions. In line with the royal vision to form a committee aimed at modernizing the political system, which marks the beginning of a significant phase in the modernization of the Jordanian state, one of the key objectives is to ensure that Jordanian women can participate effectively in this process. In response to this vision, the Board of Trustees of Isra University passed a resolution during its sixth session for the academic year 2023/2024, held on April 25, 2024. This resolution established the Women’s Empowerment Center, making it the first center at a Jordanian university dedicated to women's empowerment in all its forms.

The Women Empowerment Center works to strengthen the role of women in various fields by building their capacities and empowering them academically, professionally, and socially—thereby reinforcing the principles of social justice and equal opportunity. We believe that women’s empowerment is the cornerstone of sustainable development; therefore, through our programs and activities, we aim to support research and initiatives that address challenges and enhance women’s participation in the nation’s journey of progress and advancement.

Developing society through empowering women, building their capacities, and developing research and scientific studies specialized in the challenges facing women’s empowerment

 

Goals of Women’s Empowerment Center:

1. Enhancing women’s presence in decision-making positions and leadership roles.

2. Enhancing women’s diverse skills in leadership, professional, social, economic, and health fields, while supporting women with special needs.

3. Supporting and conducting research and studies related to women’s empowerment in all fields.

4. Building effective partnerships with stakeholders concerned with women’s empowerment.

5. Strengthening women’s active participation in sustainable economic and social development projects.

6. Promoting awareness of women’s empowerment and encouraging society to support their participation in all fields.

7. Contributing to building an equitable society by promoting women’s rights and preventing discrimination against them.

8. Promoting a culture of equality between women and men and reducing violence against women.

9. Raising women’s awareness of the importance of political participation and engagement in political parties.

 

The Women Empowerment Center was established by a decision of the Board of Trustees of Isra University in its sixth session of the 2023/2024 academic year, held on April 25, 2024, making it the first center of its kind among Jordanian universities dedicated to women’s empowerment.

The center is a specialized entity that aims to support women’s participation across political, economic, social, and cultural fields. It seeks to enhance the capacities of university female students, staff members, and women from the local community through training, leadership skill-building, and the provision of platforms for dialogue and community engagement—ensuring that women are empowered to reach decision-making positions and contribute effectively to sustainable development. The center also conducts scientific research and designs and implements awareness and training programs in cooperation with national and international institutions.
