In line with the royal vision to form a committee aimed at modernizing the political system, which marks the beginning of a significant phase in the modernization of the Jordanian state, one of the key objectives is to ensure that Jordanian women can participate effectively in this process. In response to this vision, the Board of Trustees of Isra University passed a resolution during its sixth session for the academic year 2023/2024, held on April 25, 2024. This resolution established the Women’s Empowerment Center, making it the first center at a Jordanian university dedicated to women's empowerment in all its forms.
The center aims to empower women in various leadership, legal, political, social, and economic fields by enhancing the presence of women in decision-making positions, policy-making, and leadership positions, identifying the challenges that hinder women’s access to leadership positions, and enabling women to confront them, preserving women’s constitutional and legal rights and protecting women from All forms of discrimination, increasing women’s participation in political and partisan life, enhancing women’s effective participation in building their society and contributing to social development, creating women’s capabilities to empower them economically and spreading awareness of the importance of empowering women and the multiple means to build their capabilities and integrate them into the process of sustainable development, and building effective partnerships with concerned parties in empowering women and developing research and studies.
