Faculty of Pharmacy – message from the dean

It is an exciting time to be a pharmacist. The present pharmacists are playing a bigger role as medical counselors, teachers and advocates. They are a vital piece of the healthcare system, and are among the most trusted professionals. 

Pharmacy profession has evolved from its conventional and traditional drug focused basis to an advanced patient focused basis over the years. Here, at Isra University (IU) faculty of pharmacy, we have developed our curriculum to ensure that our graduates meet the increasing demands of the profession. 

IU faculty of pharmacy is recognized as one of the leading centers for Pharmacy education and research in Jordan and enjoys an outstanding national and international reputation. The academic members of staff are graduates from  diverse and leading universities in the field of pharmacy in the world*, this diversity delivers to students not only a high standard of education but an exciting cultural experience.  

We offer two programs: 

Bachelor Program in Pharmacy: 

Our Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy program aims to prepare well-rounded pharmacists capable of serving at various career settings including community pharmacy, hospital pharmacy, and pharmaceutical industry.  

Students must satisfactorily complete 160 credit hours. After graduation, students are required to meet the registration standards set by the Jordanian Pharmacists Association (JPA) which include completing an intern training program and passing their pharmacy board exam. 

Master's Program in Pharmaceutical Sciences: 

Our Master's degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences program is an innovative postgraduate entry program designed to fast track graduates into a rewarding and challenging career in the profession of pharmacy. The skills they learn ranging from analyzing data to communication and experimentation, are skills they will be able to use throughout their lives. Students must satisfactorily complete 33 credit hours and they can select a thesis or a non-thesis track. Students usually complete coursework in about two years, but the exact timeframe will vary depending on the student. 

Students are central to everything we do. Our graduates have tremendous opportunities, and the future of pharmacy is expected to be even brighter as the profession continues to evolve.
