Welcome to the Graduate Program in English Language and Literature at Isra University.

The academic year 2018/2019 was pivotal to our English Department as it witnessed the inception of the Master's Program in English Language and Literature. This significant addition has enriched our academic programs, presenting a diverse set of courses encompassing linguistics, literature, and EFL (English as a Foreign Language). Our esteemed faculty, comprising distinguished associates and full professors, bring their expertise and passion to the fore, enriching the educational journey of our graduate students.

Our Master's Program in English Language and Literature boasts two distinctive tracks: the Thesis Track (Dissertation) and the Comprehensive Examination Track. These tracks empower students to delve into their chosen areas of interest, allowing for in-depth exploration and mastery of the multifaceted disciplines within English Language and Literature.

About the Department

Welcome to the Department of English Language and Literature at Isra University, Jordan, an integral part of the vibrant Faculty of Arts. Since its establishment in 2002, our department has been a beacon of academic excellence, fostering a rich legacy over the years. It offers a diverse array of courses in Linguistics and Literature, taught by qualified and experienced staff. It provides students with a comprehensive and dynamic educational experience, eventually producing well-educated and qualified individuals who actively engage in making meaningful contributions to society. In the academic year 2018/ 2019, a major and significant addition was made to the department with the opening of the master’s program in English Language and Literature. The program offers a wide range of courses in linguistics, literature, and EFL taught by a group of distinguished associate and full professors. the master's program offers two tracks: the Thesis Track (Dissertation) and the Comprehensive Examination Track which covers the areas of knowledge studied by the student. With a distinguished alumni base comprising (1620) undergraduates and (19) graduates, embodying the values instilled during their time at Isra University, our department takes pride in the accomplishments of those who have passed through its halls, and in our commitment to shaping well-rounded individuals equipped with a deep understanding of Linguistics and Literature.
